My story started...

I began writing when I was nine years old. It has always been a passion of mine and I still remember captivating my class with stories of flaming swords and towers full of monsters. Now, being nine these were simple tales that were heavily influenced by whatever I was reading at the time, but still I remember the feeling that came with telling a story that captured the imagination and wonder of my classmates. Flash forward a few decades and here I am. I've written a full length novel that took me over 28 months to write and polish and be happy with. Is it perfect in all aspects, no, but is any work ever truly complete? But I digress, I'm here to tell you how this came about. It started because I decided as an April's Fools Day joke that I'd write a novel. It was just going to be this little thing and then I'd stop. Only I didn't stop, my fingers just kept right(write) on going, until I'd written an 80,000 word first draft. And it was chalk full of errors and fragmented sentences. In short it was a hot mess, but I kept at it. Because this had become and adventure worth telling. A tale that I wanted to share with the world. And that's how it began, but there is so much more to this novels creation. So much more happened in my life over the 2 years of its development and creation but I will get into that in the coming posts. With the start of things here I wanted to let those who don't think they can know that its possible, you only have to start. I work a full time job and write when I can, and believe you me the first draft will not be pretty, but it will be yours. And it'll be your little rock that with time and effort can be polished into a gem.
